Performance Courage Express!

What is in the session?

Performance Courage Express! is a focused, one-hour online session designed to provide a clear, practical understanding of what happens under performance pressure – and what to do about it.

This is an accessible, research-informed and immediately useful session that is split into fifty minutes of presentation, followed by ten minutes of open questions.

What will we cover:

The session covers four connected areas:

What performance feels like– an honest look at the experience of performing under pressure and why so many people feel distress in performance situations, from artistic performance to public speaking.

The full picture – an overview of the physiological, emotional and behavioural phenomena that accompany performance pressure, and what the research tells us about why they occur.

Strategies that work– practical, evidence-informed approaches for managing performance pressure at each stage: in the lead-up, in the moment itself, and in the time that follows the performance.

Who is it for?

This session is designed for anyone who faces evaluative situations (performances) in any form: public speaking, recitals, exams, presentations, auditions or work interviews, as well as for parents or teachers who support those performers.

If performance anxiety is part of your life, and you find yourself dreading your next performance, this session will provide you with some useful takeaways.
